Some operating systems comes with an internal mechanism for prioritization, such as Solaris Resource Manager (SRM).
OS based solutions allows you to prioritize between 2 different applications running on your database servers. So you can prioritize between Oracle and another application such as Web server. However – OS based solutions – doesn’t allow you to allocated resource to specific Database transaction.
